One of Maroochydore's best kept secrets - Maroochy River.

Where: Bradman Avenue, Maroochydore QLD 4558

Entering the sea at Cotton Tree, this river is definitely one of the area’s best kept secrets. On top of the amazing sunset views and picturesque wooden fishing houses, known as the Maroochydore River Boathouses, there are plenty of fun activities to do at the waterfront.

You can explore Chambers Island in the middle of the river, easily accessible by a sturdy steel and concrete footbridge. It’s a great fishing spot, and the perfect place to have a picnic or let the kids play in the children’s playground on the island. The perfect place to spend a few hours and enjoy a variety of watersports!

Speaking of watersports, how about hiring a Jet Ski, BBQ boat or kayak for the day? There are many ways to experience the beauty of Maroochy River in a fun and active way - make sure you check out all the possibilities along Bradman Ave.

After your day of exploring, you can dine by the water as the sun sets. The foreshore of Maroochy River is a melting pot of cuisines - simply take a walk along Duporth Avenue and pick whatever you fancy that night. Many restaurants boast river views, where you can enjoy a pre-dinner drink as the sun goes down.
